Preschool 1 and 2
2 ½- 3 year olds- and 3 ½- 4 year olds. Child must be potty trained. See Parent handbook for guidelines.
This program's focus is on introducing children to the school environment in a safe, loving, enriching environment. As this is typically the child's first experience with school, students will learn skills that focus on language development, listening, and how to play with others. We offer a variety of hands-on activities that build fine and large motor activities. Children will be introduced to Catechesis of the Good Shepherd as well as Spanish and P.E. once a week.
Innovations Learning is offered as an after-School option until 6:00pm.
Pre-Kindergarten 1 and 2
3 1/2 - 4 1/2 and 4 ½-5 year olds. Pre-K 1 is designed for older 3’s and young 4’s. Pre-K 2 is designed for students who are 4 turning 5.
This class works on building skills that were introduced in the preschool class. Activities are designed to increase fine and large motor as well as develop verbal and pre reading skills. Cooperation as well as problem-solving skills are emphasized and encouraged. Diocesan and Arizona state standards are followed when creating curriculum. Students attend Catechesis of the Good shepherd as well as Spanish and PE weekly. Pre-K students who are ready and meet the State age requirement will continue to Kindergarten.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
TK (Transitional Kindergarten) is designed for students turning 5 before December 31, serving as a bridge between Pre-K and Kindergarten. The developmentally appropriate curriculum includes a blend of Pre-K and Kindergarten activities. It also provides a space for students who turn 5 in the summer and may need an additional year to grow. This helps build Kindergarten readiness skills for the next school year. The curriculum is based on Diocesan and Arizona state standards. TK students attend weekly sessions of Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, along with Spanish and PE. TK is not a requirement for entering Kindergarten.
